Scoring:
The 10 points are: high (Ace), low (Deuce), which goes to the original holder of the card), Jack, off Jack, high joker (1st played), low joker (2 nd played), game (the 10), and 3 is worth 3.
- Teams have the option of bidding “Shoot the moon”, which means taking all 10 points.
- If the bid is shoot the moon and the bidding team takes all 10 points, they automatically take 25 points for that hand.
- A team must bid “Shoot the moon” in order to get 25 points, if a team takes all 10 points without bidding “Shoot the moon”, they only receive those 10 points and not 25.
- If a team bids “Shoot the moon” and fails to get all 10 points, they will lose 25 points.
Dealing:
- Dealer deals 9 cards to each player
- The minimum bid is 3.
- After completion of bid, players draw back to six cards. Any cards remaining in the deck will go to the winning bidder.
- No passing. If bidder has more than 6 trump, they must burn them on the first trick.
- If a player must burn a point that point will go to the other team.
- Everyone at the table deal’s one time, for a total of four hands at each table.
- The total amount of combined points at a table after four hands should equal 40 points, unless someone has went set, or bid shoot the moon.
Moving:
- After four hands at each table, the team with the highest score will move on to the next table.
- Winning teams move down a table. For example Table 4 will go to table 3, table 3 to table 2, and so on.
- If two teams finish in a tie, the team who won the bid on the last deal will move.
Teams will play a total of 8 tables for the tournament. |
